As we often receive inquiries regarding the compatibility of Ultimaker filaments, we would like to inform you that this filament can be processed by all Ultimaker printers. However, the built-in NFC chip can only be read by Ultimaker 3 and Ultimaker S5. The Ultimaker PLA filament is made from biodegradable raw materials. In addition, the material specially developed for the Ultimaker devices can be printed easily and reliably. Simultaneously with the launch of the filament, Ultimaker released a new Cura version, which provides its own material profiles for different requirements. The filament reel contains an integrated NFC chip that communicates material information and the remaining length of the filament directly to Cura. The Ultimaker PLA can also be easily processed by other FDM printers. In addition, the PLA filament harmonizes perfectly with the Ultimaker PVA material. PVA is a water-soluble support material that can be completely removed in a water bath after printing. This combination allows you to design and print your 3D model without geometric constraints.
